Affordable Fun For The Whole Family

May 9, 2018 By: justinecomment

Having a family is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world, but it sure can be expensive. You want to create lots of memories with your family, but you don’t want to have to spend all of your money every time you do. It just isn’t sustainable when you have bills, home maintenance, and other costs to take into account!

Here are some ideas that will help you to have affordable fun with the whole family:

Have A Picnic

Pack some of your favorite foods and walk to your favorite park or woodland area and have a picnic. This can be a great way to make memories together and have a nice day out if it’s sunny. Just make sure you take foods that are easily transported, and use a chiller if the foods need to stay cool. Storing foods incorrectly will cause illness, and you don’t want that ruining a perfectly good day!

Camp Out In The Garden

If you have camping equipment (definitely worth investing in if you have a family) going camping could be the perfect weekend activity for you. You don’t even have to drive anywhere far away to camp. Sleeping under the stars in the garden can be a lot of fun and an experience that you won’t forget in a hurry!

Start A New Project

Why not start a new project together? You could build a den outside, a treehouse, create a tipi, or make something on a much smaller scale. By using your imaginations, you shouldn’t have much trouble coming up with a great project. You don’t have to spend a fortune on materials; just work with what you have.

Try Out Escape Rooms

Think your family are smart? Try out an escape room and see how long it takes you to break out! This is suitable for people of all ages and can be a great bonding/team building activity for the family. If you have a family of thrillseekers, this is something you should definitely try at least once.

Go To A Free Museum

Have a family that love to learn? Head to a free museum. You may need to drive there or get public transport, but it will still be a relatively cheap day out. See if there are any museums in your area that are free on certain days or at certain times and you could all learn something new.

Go For A Hike

Hiking is a wonderful family activity. You stay fit and healthy together, and enjoy the scenery and the world around you. You can teach your kids about nature, and make them outdoorsy – not like the kids these days that are always on their tablets and computers.

Try A New Class Together

There are lots of classes around that could be great for you all. Maybe you could all start martial arts together, or something similar.

Which of these options will you try out with your family first? Leave your comment and thoughts below!
