The best business ideas are ones that solve problems, so one great place to start when you’re trying to come up with something you can do is to consider what in your life causes you problems – it can be anything, from big things to very small ones. Once you’ve come up with a list of things, start conducting some market research to find out whether or not other people (and, importantly, enough other people to make a profit) have the same issue.
If you can solve a problem, even if it’s a small one, and make people’s lives that little bit easier, your product or service is going to be successful, but if you can think of a problem that doesn’t currently have a solution and a new and inventive way to solve it, that’s even better. The key is not to worry about how big or small the issue is, but to ensure enough people have the same one – that’s where your customers are.

One mistake that a lot of potential business owners make is to think about what other people want, and although that’s great in some respects, it can also lead to fairly boring and samey businesses.
